COMPETITION RULES
- Open to all currently enrolled Augusta University students (i.e. undergraduate, graduate students). Doctoral students can enter the 3 Minute Thesis competition.
- Students are encouraged to form interdisciplinary teams, and also individuals can submit ideas.
- Top student submissions will be given the opportunity to work with an external mentor after preliminary rounds.
- Students are allowed to present prototypes and mockups or pamphlets to judges. Prototyping is not necessary but may be helpful as a visual aid for the judging panel.
- Any student who violates the Augusta University Code of Conduct during the competition will be provided due processes and result in team elimination from the competition.
- Student teams may use the Garage makerspace and MakeStartups resources.
- No AU faculty/employees are judges.
- Residents (medical or dental) and postdocs, by virtue of their employee status, are not eligible to participate.
- AU employees who are also students are not eligible to participate.
- The week of the event we will have an event space preview with practice session for all teams.
- A judging panel to choose the winners from the final pitch competition will review the concept summaries and fill out an award criteria evaluation rubric.
- Evaluation of the submitted entries will be completed by close of presentation event.
